    National Champs!

    August 13

    A thrilling 1-0 win over the Kenai Oilers gave the Foresters their third National Championship! Congratulations to all the players and coaches who worked so hard to make it happen. This is the team's third NBC World Series title since 2006. A fantastic performance by starting pitcher Mitch Moormann combined with perfect defense that made the early 1-0 lead stand up.     The Santa Barbara Foresters finished off their season with an 8-1 victory over Team Vegas Sunday afternoon at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium. A packed house was on hand to see the Foresters claim their eighteenth CCL Championship which they will share with the San Luis Obispo Blues. For the Blues, it was their first CCL title.     Foresters Reach Out

    Hugs for Cubs is the Foresters’ ongoing “buddy” program for children battling cancer whose goal is to create memories for, and give strength to, kids battling something much tougher than a nasty curveball. Each summer, Foresters players develop one-on-one friendships with local kids facing the toughest challenge of their young lives.

The Foresters will play for the National Championship! With a 6-4 win over Haysville, the Foresters clinched their first trip to the NBC World Series title game since 2008. Santa Barbara will play a team to be determined Friday night. The Foresters, undefeated at 6-0, are in position for their third national championship, the most of any team in the country in the past decade. Check Blake's Blog for more information Friday, and make your plans for championship-game listening parties in Santa Barbara on Saturday!
5-0!!
The Foresters became the only remaining undefeated team in the NBC World Series with a 7-0 win over San Diego on Weds. night. Santa Barbara will play on Thursday against a team to be determined late Weds night. The broadcast of the Foresters' Thursday game will begin at 6 pm on AM 990 and Teamline. In the Foresters' win over San Diego, starter Albert Minnis was outstanding, as was the relief corps (again), this time represented by Ian McCarthy and Stephen Johnson; together they struck out 14 Waves. A win Thursday sends the Foresters to the national finals. A "non-win" means another game on Friday night. 'Ster it up!
Foresters improve to 4-0 in Wichita
The Santa Barbara Foresters entered a one-hour thunderstorm delay in a 4-4 tie with the Kenai (AK) Oilers, and when the lightning subsided the Foresters did not. It led to a 6-4 win that went into the early hours of the morning once again, leaving Santa Barbara in the winner’s bracket final.
